PR & Disclosure

So, many people may think this blogging thing is just craziness.  I know, it is all a little weird! Why would someone want to blog? Is this (or that) blog an actual business or just fun and games or completely pointless?  Well, I think folks blog for many different reasons.  In the past, I’ve blogged for all of the following reasons: fun, keeping out-of-town family up to date on our family life, sharing creativity with/through the DIY blog community, promoting awareness of social justice issues (including orphan care, human trafficking, & fair trade), strengthening writing skills, processing faith/motherhood/parenting and personal growth issues, and, sometimes, developing my entrepreneurial spirit through the online marketplace :)

Ok, “why are you telling us this?!”  I want you to know that I blog here at mercyINK, ultimately, to bring Him glory.  If He’s not glorified, what’s the point? I want this to be a space for other women and mom. For YOU. To connect. To engage in your. To find hope in faith, home, motherhood, & business. To share stories. It is also, for me, an outlet for my creative and indieprenuer-minded self.  It is fully about your needs, andabout a way for me to create, connect, and share my skills, desires, and passion; And I think that’s cool, that women can do what they’re passionate about AND (sometimes!) develop that passion into a viable business. When done with integrity and honesty, I think passion + business is a beautiful thing!  Sooooo, as required by the Federal Trade Commission, but more importantly out of respect to you as my readers and in efforts to maintain total transparency, here is my disclosure statement for mercyINK | the blog  (and if you really read all that and made it this far, go buy yourself a latte!):

mercyINK is primarily authored by me, Lauren Mills, with occasional guest posts written by other authors from the community.  Posts not written by me will always be clearly identified and properly credited to their author.

mercyINK often reviews books and other resources which may be helpful to the community.  All opinions shared are honest and my own.  My desire is to help and support moms, so I will never falsely promote something I secretly think is crappy :)  Most reviewed items are purchased by myself and shared because I think they are valuable.  Occasionally, a company may ask me to review a product or service, andsometimes may even give it for free in exchange for a review post on the blog. Companies may also compensate meryINK in cash for the post. Anytime a free product, promo, coupon code, or any other paid compensation is given from a business to this blog, the association will be clearly spelled out in effort to promote integrity; And again, even with a compensated review, all opinions are honest! And I will not work with a business simply for a free product if it is not a valuable resource to some of the mercyINK audience.

mercyINK is also an affiliate for Amazon.com and several other affiliate programs.  This means that our family will receive a small percentage of the sales for any item purchased through the Amazon.com & other affiliate links on this blog.  Anytime you see books or resources linked up through Amazon, there is an affiliate link, which very simply means a few pennies for mercyINK from each sale that came through that link.   Once again, I only link to products I believe are valuable to the community! Usually products I have used myself (or ones on my wish list ;))

For businesses: If would like mercyINK to review your product or service, or would like me to host a giveaway, please send an email to  laurenATmercyINKblogDOTcom.  I am particularly interested in services and products that fit in one of the following categories: family/motherhood, Christian faith, home decor/diy/crafting, and entrepreneur/business/blogging. See the sponsor page for more details.
