Nearly two years ago, in March 2013, I wrote the post I’d waited seven years to write. It came with passion and excitement and so much joy. Today, different emotions, hard emotions, well up as I share the post I never thought I’d write.
For those that are following our story but may have missed the latest updates on insta or facebook, here is the news we shared on 1/16/15:
Ok friends. Deep breath… So many of you have been incredible following our#millsadoption journey & offering so many prayers on our behalf. It’s with heavy hearts that we share today, after 2 challenging years, this phase of our adoption journey has come to an end. We are no longer adopting little M, & she has been reunited with bio family in a truly miraculous way that strangely, but beautifully, God allowed us to be a part of. It’s been a horrific few months, but the most important thing you need to know is that she has been reunited with her mama that loves & wants her, & we rejoice for her today. God left no room for us to doubt His hand at work in every detail of this story. Profoundly grateful for God’s incredible Sovereignty in this situation… this is truly HIS story, not ours. We know that He is with us, even though we are grieving deeply. Thank you for your love, prayers, & support over the past two years. We believe our prayers (& yours) for M were in fact answered… Today, she is home.

Thank you for your support over the past two years. We are sincerely blessed by the community God rose up around us, to walk with us. We know the call to adopt is still on our lives, and we are prayerfully moving forward with domestic adoption. We’ll share more as we have more information to share, but for now, if you would join us in prayer for God’s provision in starting over and His guidance in each step to come.
With love & gratitude,
Lauren & Adrian
