We are really enjoying a slower pace this summer, and clearly the blog reflects that. It’s been sweet to slow down and let the kids stay up late and forget about schedules and deadlines and the internet for a little bit.
In spite of these mostly lazier days, the past two weeks have been so very full I feel like I’m paddling upstream. With very short notice, and after a flurry of preparation over these last several days, I will be headed to Africa in about a week. Unfortunately, I will not be able to see my girl on this trip. It’s heart-wrenching to be so close yet too far to get to her. Yet, I have confidence that if I was supposed to go, it would have happened. We prayed and looked at every possible avenue and very clearly the doors were shut to get out to her.
I’ll be making the super quick trip with a sweet friend and fellow adoptive mama to file some necessary paperwork. We would covet your prayers for safety over our travels, for no flight delays, for no lost luggage (we won’t be there long enough to get luggage that is delivered late), and for general favor and peace over every detail.
Also wanted to share that the shop will be closed down for the next couple of weeks in light of the travel.
But you can enter a fun giveaway for a print and necklace over at A Mama Collective and Joyful Life blogs, where I was able to share a little bit about my heart on passions and motherhood as part of their Authentic Motherhood series.
I so hope you’re finding rest and some stillness this summer. Thank you in advance for adding our little family to your prayers.
Grace and Peace,
