“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—”
– Ephesians 2:8
Some days I need this truth over and over and over again.
The offer of grace keeps me moving forward when everything in me says “You’ve failed. Just give up.”
I find I’m particularly hungry for grace in motherhood, when I’ve lost my temper again, when the kids talk back like they’re teenagers, when I’m falling short, when I’m at a loss.
And on the rare day that I’m feeling pretty fantastic about something I’ve done or how parenting is going, this Ephesians 2 truth cropped up in my heart reminds me that it’s not my doing or my excellence or my anything to credit. It is all His gift.
My part is a tiny mustard seed of faith that He waters and nourishes and grows up into something strong and fruit-bearing and beautiful.
So, for all you who need grace, it’s here and it’s for you. Free for the taking.
His grace brought us salvation from the depths of our sin, it can cover the struggle you’re facing today.
