Today marks 6 months since receiving the referral for our daughter.
And not much has changed or moved in her case. In fact, the climate for adoption in her country has become increasingly tense and is very, very fragile. I cannot tell you what a roller coaster this ride has been already; shaky, high highs and very low lows, uncertainty around every corner, sudden acceleration only to be jerked backed down to tummy-turning plummets. We are weary and truly, all we have is Jesus. He is our constant. He alone is steady.
Because we have no answers but we have One who hears our cries, we decided to do the only thing we know to do in all this, which is to pray. Starting at 6:00 this morning, we’ve invited our friends and family to join us in 24 hours of prayer over our girl. Many stepped forward and we have every single 30 minute slot from this morning through until tomorrow morning completely covered in prayer.
Always be joyful in the Lord! I’ll say it again: Be joyful! Let everyone know how considerate you are. The Lord is near. Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7 GW)
We would love to invite even more voices to join our chorus to The Lord and intercede on behalf of a little girl that is desperate for hope. Would love for you to whisper or cry out a prayer on her behalf, if you would today and tomorrow especially. She is in need of family and medical care and nutrition and hope and joy and Jesus. You can read more specific prayer requests here.
We praise God that He is faithful even when we cannot make sense of our lives; that He is our helper when we feel abandoned; that He is the rescuer from all our troubles.
Grateful for your prayers today. Humbled to not walk this road alone.
