There are a few people here on earth who played a pivotal role in our decision to adopt.
Watching our closest friends walk through the process over the past five years through two Ethiopian adoptions unquestionably played into our desire and urgency to say yes to the call. I am so grateful for their boldness to share with us through their lives the trying, challenging, but beautiful story of adoption. [You can read older posts about their journey here and here and Jolene’s ordinary brave story here (part1) and here (part2)].
After much seeking and praying, the Lord has led Jon and Jolene to adopt a third time, this time a beautiful little girl from China. She has Down Syndrome and is absolutely precious. She was on a waiting child list, just waiting for a family to call her their own.
Would you take a minute to watch their story?
You can read their whole story under the “updates” tab on their page.
Jon and Jolene have the love, time, and resources to care for this sweet child and their boys well. What they need help with is getting her home!
Specifically, they need to raise about another $1400 by MONDAY to be able to complete the homestudy. I truly believe with all of us giving a little, we can make a difference for my friends and their growing family. No amount is too small. They are really looking for a miracle from the Lord and I know He can do it!
If you aren’t able to give financially right now, would you join us in prayer?

There are many days that I’m downright discouraged about adoption, but watching the Lord make a family in the most miraculous ways never gets old.
