Are you enjoying all the holiday and handmade cheer here on the blog? I know it’s a little break from the regular writing, but I hope you’re having as much fun as I am learning more about the amazing women behind the Gift Guide.
And today’s an extra special feature, because it’s Giving Tuesday:
“We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. This year help us create #GivingTuesday. A new day for giving back. On Tuesday December 3, 2013, global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more will come together to create #GivingTuesday.”
Ginger of Ginger Lane Goods is one lady who has made giving a way of life. I had the chance to meet her at the Influence Conference in September, and truly, she’s just as lovely as they come. And so is the vision behind her brand:
Ginger Lane combines handmade goods with giving back. Goods for good. A portion of all sales helps sponsor a child through Compassion International.
Ginger is living out what it means to be a giving person, not just in her finances (though she’s doing that), but also in how she serves and gives of her time.
I love what Ginger has to say about giving:
“You don’t need to have a certain amount of money in savings in order to give. You can give your money, your time, your prayers, your love, your compassion. You can give $1 or you can give $1000. You can give a helping hand. You can give encouragement. You can give wisdom. The point is that you are doing something for someone else.”
And she is living it. You can read more about how she is giving back and teaching her boys (triplets!) how to give on her super inspiring blog.
Ginger Lane is committed to investing in the lives of children. To encourage and support their education, to help put nutritious meals on their plate, to develop leaders, to protect girls from sex slavery.
If you’d like to order in time for Christmas (and why wouldn’t you?!), you must order by Wednesday Dec 11 for delivery in time for the holiday.
And today Ginger has so generously offered a $20 shop credit to one special reader. Be sure to follow here in all the social places, then enter below.
I hope you’ll be as inspired by Ginger as I am, and live out #GivingTuesday all year round.
