As you guys know, a few days post-trip, my heart is in Guatemala right now.
Coming back, the culture shock is always much harder than going for me. There’s a lot to process and pray over. There’s tension and discomfort and a wrestling that can’t be swept beneath the rug. There’s a frustration in wanting to live life changed, yet having to move forward and meet the normal demands of the routine that rolls on just as it was when you left it.
I know I have to feel it and walk through the questions and struggles, but it’s a challenge, ya know?
If you missed the posts from our week in Zacapa, you can catch up on them here:
So in my wrestling and my re-entry and exhaustion, these are the things going on in my heart tonight.
“Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? ” (James 2:5)
