So many of us want brave.
We want to let go of the stuff.
The baggage and busyness and junk that so easily entangles.
We want to take up that New Testament writer on his advice and run unhindered and free and focused on the goal.
We want to enter into the fullness of all He has.
All of it.
Even the messy.
We want to.
But it’s hard, right?
Throwing off the baggage means we have to let go.
Of our stuff.
Of our control.
Of what we think this life should look like.
Of that American dream thing.
And just like that, we get stuck, between that messy/brave stuff and that comfortable/safe life we know.
This week, you have the chance to follow the journey of a group of people that are diving into the tension. They’re leaving comfort to take a chance on brave. To walk in the midst of what outwardly might appear messy and unsafe. They’re entering poverty to uncover their own, and find the God over the rich and the poor.
Compassion International’s blogger team will be sharing from Nicaragua this week. Head over to Compassion’s blog to follow the stories.
Shaun Groves, the Christian songwriter, speaker, and Compassion advocate, is one such blogger on the team. I hope that you’ll take a few minutes to hear from him via the clip below for some fresh perspective on the Good News. You will laugh, and I think you’ll also gain a little insight into what Jesus really had in mind for us.
