Friends: I thought I’d take a minute to state the obvious, OK?
I have issues in the way of blog designing. By issues I mean that I have an actual disease whereby I physically cannot stop designing and redesigning the blog. Ok, it’s not quite so dramatic, not a physical impossibility, but almost. It feels like it. Every time I think I have the design that’s right for mercy ink, every time I tell myself “Ok, this is it, now don’t touch it for XX months”, I don’t and I don’t.
I’ve decided the best solution for me is to simplify. And I’m really digging my latest, simple design. At the risk of making myself out to be a liar, I might say this is the one (but I should know better by now).
Let’s take an embarrassing walk down memory lane (no doubt at my expense), shall we?
If you ever wondered how to brand your blog, um, this is not it. Don’t change your blog design every month.
Do as I say, not as I do, OK?
I recommend Hayley’s No Brainer Blog for a good place to start on basic blog design advice, as well as great tips on blogging in general.
Now that I’ve exposed my chronic condition (like you didn’t already know), let me take this moment to give a little plug on my print shop + blog design services. Designing for other people is a healthy way to channel my creative juices, so I’m working to really put my energies into the shop in the coming months.
You can see my portfolio on the on the design page and here is an example of my latest work:
I was so blessed to work with Amanda to bring her vision to life. She is the real deal, friends. Definitely pay her a visit AND be sure to scope out her recipes. Let me just say, it was near torture doing that recipe page… I was always hungry and drooling over her amazing food!
More proof of Amanda’s amazingness?
She sent me this beautiful Anthro mug a few weeks back, just because. Honestly blessed my heart!
Big Sis helped with our little photo shoot, too :)
I think that will be all for today’s confessions and randomness.
What geeky obsessions do you have?
