My go-to superbowl party food is chips and salsa, so I was excited to for the chance to check out Rubbermaid’s new durable food storage containers at Target, perfect for serving and transporting food on game day. The leak-proof seal makes it really easy to transport food to a party without messes or spills and ready to serve. They also make for easy storage of left overs.
I had my cutie shopper with me. [The two of us in Target together = dangerous.]
Anyway, what I really like about the Rubbermaid Take Alongs are the variety of sizes, not just your standard small tupperware bowls. I ended up using my coupons to purchase the large rectangular Take Alongs, which are HUGE (one gallon large). They are perfect for layered dips.
And speaking of dips, I’m thinking of trying this delish Pesto Dip from my friend Amanda Jane Brown. If pesto’s not your thing, she has a ton of party food ideas, and lots of yummy dips and sauces. Be sure to go visit her and say hi from me :)
While we were shopping, I also snagged a set of the large Take Along round serving bowls (perfect for bringing the chips). I went with larger Rubbermaid Take Alongs, but the sizes available range all the way down to small, half cup dishes for dips and sauces.
The large containers would also be perfect for bringing messy wings to a party. As hubby informed me last year, 1.25 BILLION wings will be consumed Superbowl weekend. Yes, Billion with a B, baby. Does this disturb anyone else or is it just me?
Don’t forget to grab your coupon here before heading out to get your own game day containers. Also, in honor of the upcoming Superbowl, Rubbermaid is hosting a Game Day Party Sweepstakes. They are offering the chance to win an Easy Find Lids Party Pack, a 48Qt Cooler and $100 VISA gift card! You can enter the sweepstakes here. Entries are limited to one entry per person / per email address / per day. Sweepstakes starts December 19, 2012 and ends January 21, 2013.
What about you? Will you be hosting or attending a superbowl party this year? Are you a hometown-kinda-gal like me, or will you be into the game no matter who’s playing? Let us know what you’re up to!
