Good morning, friends. We’re in Virginia, so hurricane prep is in full swing. Schools are closed, grocery stores are running low on supplies, and everyone is prepping for the so called Halloween superstorm.
This morning, I feel burdened to pray for those in the path of hurricane Sandy.
Will you join me in praying?
Heavenly Father:
Thank you for today. Thank you for your grace that is constant. Always. Even when we don’t feel it. Even when we doubt it. Thank you that you are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb.13:8).
We pray with the psalmist:
Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy!
I look to you for protection.
I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings
until the danger passes by. (Psalm 57:1, NLT)We pray your hedge of protection around every family. Every home. We hide ourselves in the shadow of your love. More than anything, Lord, we acknowledge that in every circumstance, you alone are constant. You alone are unwavering. You alone are our hope. All of our trust is in you, because only You are worthy of it. We love you today, our Father, Savior, Friend. We trust you. Amen.
If you or your family is in the path, would you leave a note in the comments? Let us know your name, or the name of a loved one you would like us to pray for, as well as your location.
Can we come back and check on each other here?
My prayer is that this post might serve as a little center of hope, a place for readers of this community to come and check in on each other, and lift each other up in prayer. Thanks for taking a moment to comment and to share the post with others.

One daughter is on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, the other, a college student, is in Lynchburg. Thank you for the beautiful psalm to share with them as we lift everyone in prayer.
Thank you for sharing, Lori. We’re in the Shenandoah Valley area… school’s out again today. It’s pretty windy and some icy rain happening, but overall OK & power is on still. Thanks for commenting & glad you’re able to share the verse with them :) -l
