It’s been too long since I last counted my blessings with Multitudes on Mondays…. and my heart has felt it.
My attitude has been far from the Philippians 2 attitude of Christ to which I am called.
And this ungrateful heart? It does me no stinkin’ good. Ingratitude breeds selfishness, and selfishness means I’m not a great (or even good) mama, or wife, or friend, or follower.
Because how can I be the person God wants me to be when I cannot stop thinking about my needs, my wants, my aches & pains, my hurts, my life, my plan?
“For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” (James 3:16)
So today I’m going back to the basics. Back to gratitude. I’ve learned [but don't put into practice enough] that even when you don’t feel grateful, you declare gratitude to get out of your rut. It’s a fake it ’til ya make it kind of thing!
Counting on…
#57 – A house full (to the very brim) of teenagers yesterday
#58 – For a pastor that seeks God’s voice and vision… and preaches it boldy
#59 – … Like yesterday’s message, for example [8.12.12]
#60 – Sleepy night night hugs from the baby, tight around my neck
#61 – Painting polka-dot nails with Sis
#62 – For sweet C, who has started to ask me to read him a Bible story every morning. [How can I say no?]
#63 – God’s goodness in allowing me to be a part of His great big plan
#64 – For this organization, for their obedience to God’s call to the lost and least of these…
#65 – …and for the blessing of joining them in their mission
[Will you join the rescue??? Click over for the story... and more on this soon]
#66 – Mornings and evenings getting cooler… fall is on the horizon
#67 – Kindergarten. Wow.
#68 – New days, new mercies, and renewed hope. Every. Single. Day.
#69 – His Word will not return void but WILL accomplish that which it set forth to do (Isaiah 55:11)
#70 – A new favorite
#71 – For people who are reading and sharing in this place… I’m so grateful for each one who joins us there.
#72 – For gratitude that turns my heart to Him. See, I feel better already :)

i hear ya, sister, my journal has lain untouched for a week and it’s amazing the difference a day of gratitude can make in turning my day around! we have a kindergartener too! blessings from Uganda!
Thanks Kelly! Uganda!!!? Would love to hear more ;)
So true about faking it til you make it. Clients wig out when I tell them that! They really don’t expect such things from a counselor. But I tell myself that all the time. Life is a choice. a decision.
Thanks for linking up with WIP Wednesday!
Love that Mary Beth! For sure, our attitudes are a CHOICE. Thanks! :)

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your blog?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more
in the way of content so people could connect with it
better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures.
Maybe you could space it out better?
