As I mentioned on Tuesday, my goal for mercyINK has been for it to be a place of encouragement for women in creating home in their physical residences (be it house, apartment, hut, wherever!), but also in fostering love and faith in the hearts of their families.
Along with the launch of the All Things Heart&Home link party on Tuesdays comes a new series on Thursdays, Home Stories. Come join us every week for the real story of home from another woman of faith in the blog community.
My husband and I have been married for almost seven years and we have four children. Three girls and one (lonely) boy ranging in ages from two to eight.
Q. Where do you blog? What do you blog about?
I blog over at Sweet Home in Idaho. When I created my blog, I had the kids in mind.
I wanted to keep track of all those sweet little moments that might someday escape memory. Hence the blog. It’s a compilation of our everyday happenings. Maybe a cute thing that one of the children has said or done, a life issue that the Lord has laid on my heart, homeschooling, sewing projects, pictures, recipes. Those types of things.
“Home” is a special word and has very deep meaning for me, but I’ll try to do my best to give you the short answer.
Currently, my family and I live in the Coeur d’Alene (core-duh-lane), Idaho area (where I moved to from Boise) and I love it here.
My Bible from when I was a girl. I saved my money for this specific Bible and it has been with me for every mountain and valley I’ve encountered along the way. The leather is tired so I’ve replaced it since then, but nothing’s more comforting than my Cambridge.
My four-leaf clover.
My camera. An old half of a picture of my mom. It’s on my fridge so I can see her beautiful face every day.
One super huge, super fun swingset/playset for the kiddos. For sure.
I hope they remember a home filled with Gods’ love and learning and adventure. I want them to grow up in a Christ centered environment. I’d like them to know that no matter what this world throws at them, they always have a safe place to come back to.
Thank you so much for having me today Lauren! I will be looking forward to reading the rest of your Home Stories Series.
And thank YOU, Dana! I hope her responses encouraged your heart like they did mine.
