Upcycled Glass Vases turned Faux Ceramic Vases
After the new couch I’ve been totally inspired to redecorate the living room, on a budget, of course!
Little accessories go a long way in spicing up a space, don’t you think?
I’m especially a fan of vases, candles, and other modern knick knacks that bring in the accent colors I want in a room (you can see the mood board I created for our living room here).
These guys are pretty fab, eh?:

While I love these pretty teal and turquoise ceramic decor pieces, I opted for free.
And this project was entirely FREE. So it fit into my little budget quite nicely :)
For some reason I have about a gazillion glass vases. I’m not sure where they’re all from, especially because I’m pretty sure I didn’t purchase any of them.
Here are two that I started with:
I then dug out all the old paint I had around.
Again, no new purchases for this freebie decorating project.
Once you have your paint, pick your color and pour in on in the vase. You’ll be covering the inside of the vase and leaving the outside plain glass.
Swish it around in there to fully cover the inside.
Not even gonna lie, this was a super messy project. Straight glasses or vases would be much easier than any vase with a lip, as it just makes it more difficult to cover.
If you plan to actually fill the vases with water verses just using as decor, you will want to let the paint dry completely and then use a sealant so you can later add water.
Here are the finished products:
The small vase I had helpers on, so it got a few extra colors swirled in there. It works :)
|Bahh… sorry for bad photo— had to take at night which I never do! But the wedding photo is pretty cute, ha?|
There you have it: Cheap, easy, free decor in any color you like!
