… to me…
Last week was my birthday.
I’m not telling you how old I am, because I don’t like to disclose that information :)
But, I will tell you that, despite my age and not feeling like birthdays are a big deal anymore (there are three little people in our house who appreciate being celebrated & deserve it!), my hubby and kids made the day rather special.
I woke up to these beautiful fall flowers on the table:
While I did have to work all day, A brought me Chinese food for lunch in the office, and even stayed to eat it with me. Nice guy, eh?
My dear friend Tami also stopped by work with some chocolate. That. Was. Delicious.
Flowers, chinese food, and chocolate, we could stop right there and call it day.
But the real fun happened after work, when Adrian (& kids) organized a dinner of many of my favorite foods:
Pepper and onion pizza started our birthday dinner off on the right foot.
(My favorite part of this picture are the peppers laying on the table, which were already picked off of the kids’ slices. On principal, Adrian refused to buy a second, cheese-only pizza. It was my birthday pizza, so pepper & onion it was, like it or not, kiddies :)
In my glass was one of my favorite drinks, which I maybe (maybe) have once a year, an ice cold Yoohoo.
Yes, I love yoohoos. They are sweet and nostalgic to me.
Also on the table were hands down my two favorite junk foods:
By the way, this is not just any popcorn, or any cheese popcorn, for that matter. It is Smartfood, and it’s magical. I grew up on this stuff, seriously. And we never ever called it popcorn, it was Smartfood, or Smaaat- food, as my native Massachusetts parents would call it :)
Anyway, the non-nutritious dinner was topped off with an even less nutritious dessert:
Delectable Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream Cupcakes.
