Christmas festivities have begun, and with snow this evening to set us off right! After dinner tonight we did our first official drive around town to check out Christmas lights and the kids loved it. The simple pleasures!
I have to say I am really getting in the Christmas spirit. Have been trying to stay on top of things this year, and especially with baby coming along, I’m somehow more aware of getting things done (from cooking to housework to Christmas cards) ahead of time.
One item checked off the list: annual Christmas photo of the kids in front of the tree.
We got this one Friday evening before R and C’s Christmas program at church. Let me tell you, these pictures were PAINFUL to get. I really cannot imagine what it will be like coordinating it next year with three!
But, I think it’s safe to say the 2010 photos are a vast improvement from the Christmas tree photo in year’s past:
2009 photo shoot attempts:
and should we even talk about 2008?
Can’t you just tell that it was torturous for me to get these shots? If you can’t tell, let me tell you, it was. Just. Painful.
I think the bad holiday tree picture is becoming somewhat of a Christmas tradition for our family.
Speaking of traditions, last weekend we went and cut down a Christmas tree. It’s the first real Christmas tree Adrian has ever had!
Cam Man and Reesie were both super excited, running around, offering their suggestions of different trees to choose. Once we finally picked one, Camden was excited and blabbing away about the tree as Adrian began to saw at it; but when it finally fell over, Cam CRIED and CRIED… lol… We laughed so hard. I think we could have won money for whole scene had we caught it on video. Priceless :)
Back at the ranch, we began decorating, and it wasn’t two minutes, literally, before Camden broke an ornament. And not just any ornament, mind you, but our treasured Boston Red Sox baseball ornament. It was a sad moment in the Mills home.
I sort of took over decorating after that, but Reese did a fabulous job with the star. She actually did put it up there, and below, we reenacted so Cam could have a turn.
