I believe God wants us to ask. To ask for what is on our hearts. To rise up prayers before Him. The scripture is full of stories of people who asked the Lord. Paul tells us to. Jesus tells us to. To ask Him. To seek His guidance for our steps.
And yet, I’m starting to wonder if we’re seeking Him mainly for answers;
Just for our need, our question, our desire to be met.
It may not be a bad need or want or question.
But that’s really why we’re coming to Him. That’s really what we need Him for. To meet our needs.
My heart is convicted this morning that maybe I haven’t heard from the Lord at certain times I was desperate to hear from him, or received an answer to life’s decisions quick enough, because He wants me just to come.
Just to come before His presence.
Just come to Him because He is good.
Because He’s God.
Because He is worthy.
Because He is.
Psalm 100 invites us to come before the Lord. To enter His presence. And how do we come? With joy. In worship with a glad heart. Singing songs to Him. With thanksgiving. With praise.
“For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations” (v.5)
And isn’t that enough? Regardless to how He answers my plee, He is still faithful. His love to me has not changed.
