So, I pretty much couldn’t be happier to be going away for the weekend (all the way to Buckingham, VA…if you haven’t been there, you’re really missing out. Really. You have to go…. Book a night at Buckingham Palace. There’s a McDonald’s in town. And…. and a McDonald’s. It’s pretty sweet). Spending the weekend scrapbooking with a bunch of lovely ladies, many friends from Richomond. It’s pretty much fabulous.
You can think I’m a dork. I’m OK with that. Because it’s just good old fashioned fun. We literally spend the weekend in the gym at the campground, getting to work early in the morning, scrapping all day, breaking for lunch, which we eat on the grounds at the campground, then back to scrapbooking, until… early in the morning. Of course there are many snack breaks, and lots of coffee breaks, too.
I’ve come to the point where these weekends are now the only times I scrapbook, and while I miss the kiddos dearly, it is pretty refreshing to spend three days straight, uninterupted, documenting their little lives. So while I do feel bad about leaving for the weekend, I am sort of doing it for them, and I get to stare at their little faces and write about how cute they are and then come home and feel oh-so thankful for and appreciateive of them.
But, I have to confess, I’m feeling a extra guilty this time around. Not really about the kids. But more about Adrian. Since…Sunday is his birthday. What a mean wife, ha?! To be fair, we’ll be going out next weekend, but still, I’m leaving him ON his birthday. It’s sort of mean. So, if you think of it, and would like to help my guilty conscience (i think i spelled that wrong?), call him this weekend to wish him a very happy birthday. I know it’ll make his day :)
Happy Birthday, hubby! You are undoubtedly THE best daddy & husband! THANK YOU for letting me leave…and for watching the kids…on your birthday. You’re AMAZING :) A true stud.
LOVE YOU hubba hubby :)
Ok, enough said. I’m off to pack my bags!
